Annexation Votes Clarified

Fayetteville, NC, October, 17, 2011 – Annexation remains an important campaign issue to many citizens of Fayetteville. While Mayor Chavonne did not support the 2005 “Big Bang” Annexation, he has always supported a city’s rights to grow.

  • 11/4/1991        Involuntary annexation of Roxie Avenue- Boone Trail Area.
  • 12/6/1993        Involuntary annexation of Devonwood, Lake Shores, Murray Fork,

The Lakes, Foxfire, Yadkin Acres, Lake Valley. (8,560 residents)

Valley Road, Southview Circle, Rosehill Road-McArthur Road Area, Bowden Road-Harbor Road Area, Ramsey Street, Country Club Drive, Westlake, Ireland Drive, Faison Avenue, Ferndale Lane, Camden Road, Cedar Creek Road area.)

  • 10/24/1994      Involuntary annexation of two areas. (Cedar Creek Road area.)
  • 12/05/1994      Resolution identifying two areas (Western and Southern Areas) under
